What does "research use only" mean?

This product is intended solely for laboratory research and analytical purposes. Not for human or veterinary use or consumption. This product has not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

Who is eligible to order from VIOPEP?

Orders are accepted from purchasers who are 21 or older and who are acquiring these materials for laboratory research. VIOPEP ships within the United States only. The acknowledgment shown before the site loads is presented again as a required confirmation at checkout.

Do I need an account to place an order?

No. Checkout runs as a guest checkout: an email address and a United States shipping address are what an order needs. Customer accounts with saved order history are planned for a later phase and are not part of the current site.

Is the research-use acknowledgment repeated at checkout?

Yes. The research-use and 21-or-older acknowledgment given on entry is presented again as a required confirmation before payment, and that confirmation is recorded against the order so it can be produced later.

Where does VIOPEP ship?

Within the United States only. Checkout does not offer destinations outside the US, and orders cannot be placed for delivery to an address elsewhere.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is a flat $10 per order. Orders of $150 or more ship free. The threshold is applied automatically in the cart, so there is no code to enter.

How should material be stored?

Storage conditions are stated on each product record and on the certificate issued for that lot. Material supplied as a lyophilised powder is listed for storage at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Conditions are lot-specific, so the record accompanying the lot you receive is the one that applies.

What documentation comes with a product?

Each product record identifies the material and the lot it was drawn from. Analytical results are published per lot in the certificate archive rather than as a single figure for the product, because a certificate applies only to the lot named on it. Fields the laboratory has not supplied are left empty rather than filled.

What is a certificate of analysis?

The document a laboratory issues for one specific lot, listing the tests performed, the methods used, the results obtained and the date of testing. A certificate applies only to the lot identified on it, which is why certificates are matched to lot numbers rather than to a product in general.
